A Round-up of the Kreaverse
Each week, new developments within the Kreaverse highlight the collaborative environment that Krea University fosters — where curiosity sparks discovery and ideas evolve into meaningful actions.
In this edition, we celebrate the achievements of our students and faculty, from the election of new Junior Student Council members at IFMR GSB (Graduate School of Business) to the insightful articles and opinion pieces penned by our faculty. These milestones exemplify the leadership and intellectual rigour that define our culture.
Each event, workshop, and lecture transforms our campus into a hub of intellectual exchange and personal growth. Whether it’s the recent debate by the Connect Club on the value of a liberal arts education versus specialised professional training, or the guest lectures around the Indian economy organised by the Finance Club at SIAS (School of Interwoven Arts and Sciences) and the Corporate Relations and Career Services at IFMR GSB, the intersection of diverse disciplines creates a space where innovation and tradition thrive together.
At Krea, every day is a new chapter in the ongoing story of Interwoven Learning, where different perspectives and ideas drive our collective growth. Through leadership, academic excellence, and creative expression, our community continues to redefine what it means to learn and flourish in an interconnected world.

Organised by the Finance Club at SIAS, and Corporate Relations and Career Services at IFMR GSB, he spoke on Reflections on the Indian Capital Markets and Perspective on the Indian economy: “Challenges and the way forward”.
Subramaniam provided a thorough overview of the factors influencing the Indian stock market and the broader economy. He emphasised that stock market returns are primarily driven by expected earnings per share (EPS) growth and a demand-supply framework. He pointed out that stocks should be considered commodities, with market value often disregarding the cost of production (COP). He also discussed how the stock market can perform well despite poor GDP growth, highlighting India's comparative economic resilience. Additionally, Subramaniam examined the roles of active, passive, and hedge mutual funds within this context, shedding light on the Indian economy, asset management, and trade processes.
He further noted that approximately 50% of Indian investments are in real estate, reflecting a significant preference for housing over market-based investments. His reflections offered a nuanced understanding of the evolving landscape of Indian capital markets, providing valuable insights for students and professionals alike.
