Professor Rishabh Kirpalani will speak about the Master of Science in Quantitative Economics (MSQE) program at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. The MSQE is a rigorous, STEM-designated master’s that blends economic theory with advanced quantitative methods to prepare students for high-impact careers in data science, finance, policy analysis, consulting, and related fields. Participants will learn how the program’s fast-paced curriculum, expert faculty, flexible electives, and strong industry connections equip graduates with the analytical, econometric, and data skills needed to excel in today’s data-driven job market.
The MSQE program is designed to be integrated with the MS in Economics program at UW-Madison, which is oriented for students wanting to pursue a PhD, making it easy for students who are not sure whether to pursue an academic or professional career to switch programs.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Rishabh Kirpalani is a Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where he specialises in macroeconomics, public finance, and international economics. His research explores core questions in macroeconomic policy design—such as public debt sustainability and global safe asset markets—and has been published in leading journals including the American Economic Review, Quarterly Journal of Economics, and Review of Economic Studies. Kirpalani earned his PhD in Economics from the University of Minnesota and held academic positions at Pennsylvania State University and New York University before joining UW–Madison.
