A Round-up of the Kreaverse
Curtains down July, hello August! A new month is here, a month synonymous with settling down, meandering through new choices and promises, with an eye on the horizon of ambitions we have painted for ourselves. All the fresh cohorts are discovering their new home away from home, forging friendships, discovering new passion, deep diving into interests and having a great time doing all of these. They are enroute to doing what we all do at Krea – adapting, transforming, and evolving.
Faculty members continue to create and sustain the spirit of enquiry, steering research advancements, commencing new critical projects and turning fresh pages in chapters of mentoring.
On our campus, while futures are built on a firm foundation within our classrooms, the various strands of Krea fabric are knit beyond these walls, through events, jams, walks, chats, putting heads together and having each other’s back as a collective. The mornings and afternoons are packed with knowledge lessons and evenings are loaded with conversations, with a generous helping of camaraderie, true to the spirit of the Krea community. Each day we are raising a toast to a future that is brimming with possibilities.
To catch a glimpse of the weekly happenings, read on. For real-time updates, please do follow us on our social media channels. If you have stories or news to share with the Krea community, we invite you to connect with us at all.commsteam@krea.edu.in

Krea Computer Science Talk
On 30 July, 2024, Diganta Mukhopadhyay hosted the session, Structural Abstractions of Neural Networks as part of Krea Computer Science Talk. Neural networks are being used extensively in several safety critical domains, which makes the formal verification of neural networks being deployed in safety critical domains extremely important. However, the size of neural networks remains a major hurdle for verification of neural networks. Structural abstraction of neural networks attempts to solve this problem by starting with a query involving a large network and reducing it to an over-approximate query involving a smaller abstract network. In this talk, Diganta Mukhopadhyay introduced a wide range of works performing neural network abstraction and presented the techniques being used there. Finally, the speaker presented a unifying framework developed that brings together several existing approaches for neural network abstraction.
