A Roundup of the Kreaverse

September arrived at Krea with vibrant energy, achievements and togetherness. A key milestone was the IFMR GSB–L&T Edutech agreement for a specialised MBA, strengthening industry-academia ties. TEDxKrea 2025 returned with its third edition, themed The Art of Unlearning, sparking reflection. Festivities lit up with AARPO Onam ’25, while the community marked Suicide Awareness Week. Other highlights included stargazing during a lunar eclipse, Koffee GoSip on Indian philosophy, and a session on computer music. IFMR GSB signs agreement with L&T Edutech 
 

On 9 September 2025, the Executive Education at IFMR Graduate School of Business (GSB) entered into a strategic agreement with L&T Edutech to offer a specialised MBA programme in Data Sciences, Finance and Operations exclusively for L&T executives.

The agreement was formally signed by Febin M F, Head, L&T Edutech, and S Sundara Rajan, Registrar, Krea University, in the presence of distinguished leaders including Dr C Jayakumar, EVP & CHRO, Larsen & Toubro; Professor Lakshmi Kumar, Dean, IFMR GSB; Shrikant Joshi, Advisor to CMD, Larsen & Toubro; Ramanathan Hariharan, Executive Director, Executive Education, IFMR GSB; Raghavendran, Head, L&D Delivery Center, L&T; and Aswin Kumar, Associate Director, Executive Education, IFMR GSB.

Dr Sharin Shajahan (Naomi), Post-Doctoral Fellow, School of Interwoven Arts and Sciences (SIAS), has published an article titled ‘Artificial Intelligence and Anti-Feminist Backlash’ in Oxford Intersections: AI in Society. The article examines the intersection of AI and anti-feminist backlash through a feminist lens on technology. Know more

International Symposium

Krea University hosted ‘Interrogating the Present: Collaborations in the Social Sciences’ with International Centre of Advanced Studies: Metamorphoses of the Political (ICAS:MP), SOAS University of London and International Institute for Asian Studies (IIAS) from 11-12 September 2025. The symposium gathered global scholars to build frameworks for co-created research, with discussions on Urban Futures, Migration and Society, Environment, Theory from the South, and Gender and Life Cycles.

 
 

Krea Faculty attend IN-SPACe Event

At the IN-SPACe Short-term Skill Development Course on ‘Entrepreneurship Development for the Space Sector’, held from 31 August to 5 September 2025, Krea faculty contributed as speakers. TEDxKrea University 2025

TEDxKrea University 2025, held on 6 September, marked the third edition with the theme The Art of Unlearning. A special video by Sourav Ganguly set the tone for a day of reflection, curated by a 30+ student team. The event highlighted that unlearning is as vital as learning—key to true growth.

Lunar Spectacle

On 7 September 2025, students and faculty gathered at the terrace of the JSW Academic Block to observe a total lunar eclipse. From 10 pm to 12.30 am, attendees enjoyed a clear view of the eclipse, making it a memorable celestial experience.

Knight-Hennessy Scholars Programme 

On 8 September 2025, SIAS students had the opportunity to explore the prestigious Knight-Hennessy Scholars programme at Stanford University. Christian Tanja, Senior Assistant Director of Admission, Knight-Hennessy Scholars, introduced students to the programme, sharing insights on student life at Stanford, eligibility criteria, and the exciting career possibilities for selected scholars.

 
 

Koffee GoSip 

The 10 Sept 2025 edition of Koffee GoSip featured Dr Shriddha Shah and Dr Shikha Rajpurohit, Assistant Professors of Philosophy, SIAS. Their talk, ‘Rethinking Indian Philosophy: Between Legacy and Possibility’, reimagined the field as a living body of thought inviting critique and new interpretations.

 
 

Computer Science Talk

On 10 September 2025, Dr Srikumar Subramanian, Visiting Associate Professor, Computer Science, SIAS, gave a talk titled 'Computer Music: An Introduction to Its History, Ideas, and Possibilities.' The session explored key cultural moments in the history of computer music, cross-disciplinary approaches to music-making, and how tool-making has shaped creative exploration in this field.
