Isha Raghav, Cohort of 2022 - 2026, School of Interwoven Arts and Sciences (SIAS) was the winner of the Synergy Logo Competition 2025. The logo will be a part of Synergy's brand identity and will be used across promotional materials, digital platforms and official communications. Synergy 2025 is slated for 8 February 2025 at Krea University's Sri City campus. Hear from Isha as she shares her ideas, inspiration and that creative spark that culminated in the design.

Afrin Shaikh, Cohort of 2023 - 2027, SIAS recently attended the Gen AI Summit, a two-day event exploring the transformative impact of Generative AI across industries. The experience was packed with insights and networking opportunities. Beyond expert-led sessions covering a range of topics, Afrin engaged with professors conducting groundbreaking research in AI and connected with professionals from various sectors, making the summit an inspiring and enriching experience.

Established over three decades ago, NHRDN is an autonomous, not-for-profit, professionally managed organisation. It is a globally recognised centre for grooming leaders and serves as the national apex body committed to promoting people development in India.

Sahas, the Adventure Club of Krea University, organised a four-day, five-night trip to the Western Ghats, starting from Munnar. The journey began on the evening of 22 January, 2025 and concluded on 26 January, 2025.
During the trip, members trekked to Chokramudi Peak, where they were rewarded with breathtaking views from the summit. Following the trek, they explored Eravikulam National Park, immersing themselves in its stunning landscapes and vibrant wildlife.

Nidhin Donald, Postdoctoral Fellow, Moturi Satyanarayana Centre for Advanced Study in the Humanities and Social Sciences, Krea University, has recently contributed to two publications: He authored an article titled Displaying the ‘Family’ Online: Reflections on Syrian Christian Visual Life in Family Studies, published in Oxford University Press. He co-authored an article titled Ambedkar on Indian Christianity: Towards a Critique, published in South Asia: Journal of South Asian Studies.

Professor Shanti Pappu, Visiting Professor of Archaeology and History, SIAS has co-authored a paper titled Breaking it Down: Ethnographic Studies on the Manufacture of Basalt Grinding Stones in India, published in the Journal of Archaeological Science: Reports. Her co-authors include Sutonuka Bhattacharya, PhD student and Professor Naama Goren-Inbar from Institute of Archaeology, The Hebrew University of Jerusalem; Dr Prachi Joshi, Senior Research Scholar and Dr Kumar Akhilesh, Director from Sharma Centre for Heritage Education and Professor Gideon Shelach-Lavi from Department of Asian Studies, The Louis Frieberg Chair of East Asian Studies, Hebrew University.

Dr Shikha Rajpurohit, Assistant Professor, Philosophy, SIAS has been awarded the Tagore National Scholarship by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, for a period of two years. As part of this scholarship, she will work under the aegis of the Bhandarkar Oriental Research Institute, Pune, to critically edit the Nidarśana commentary of Rājānaka Ānanda on Kāvyaprakāśa. This 17th-century commentary is known to exist in eight manuscripts to date. The edited version will serve as a valuable resource for researchers in the fields of Sanskrit poetics and Indian philosophy.

Republic Day Celebrations

|
Krea University commemorated the 76th Republic Day with vibrant celebrations on campus. Dr Madhavilatha Maganti, Associate Professor, Psychology, SIAS was the Chief Guest. The celebration featured the traditional hoisting of the national flag.

The Krea Republic Cup Cricket Tournament, organised by the IFMR Sports Committee, infused Krea University with electrifying energy as 14 student teams competed in a thrilling week-long contest from 18 - 26 January, 2025. The tournament featured 18 intense matches, with teams battling for a spot in the knockout rounds. On 26 January, 2025 the semifinals saw Team Dhoom, led by Rahul, edge past MidKnight Riders, while Titans, captained by Anurag, triumphed over Chase Masters to set up an exhilarating final. The championship match was a gripping showcase of skill and strategy, culminating in Team Dhoom’s hard-fought victory, with Titans finishing as runners-up. Abhinay, the Drama Club of IFMR GSB, recently hosted Drama-e-Baazi. The event featured two exciting rounds. In round 1, one team member had to express a character and movie through speaking, dancing, singing, or acting, while the other two teammates attempted to guess correctly. Round 2 introduced a creative twist — teams were given a scene from a movie or series and had to reenact it in a completely different style from the original. The winners of the event were Charvi ke Jaabaz — Harsh, Charvi and Eklavya. The runner-up team was Tees Maar Khan — Manikumar, Nihal and Rishi. Raga, the Music Club of IFMR GSB, recently hosted Musical Mischief, bringing students together for a fun and exciting competition. The event had three rounds, testing participants’ musical knowledge, quick thinking and teamwork. Round 1 was a quiz where teams answered questions about music, artists and songs. Round 2, called Pick the Objects, allowed participants to pick objects related to the songs being played. Round 3, called Headphone Game, had one teammate listen to loud music on headphones while trying to guess the phrase their partner was saying. The winners were Tejaswini and Harshita.
