A Round-up of the Kreaverse
Krea is beautifully shaped by a culture of sensitivity, care and understanding that is central to what makes the spaces within our community special and apt for growth and learning. There is a constant flow of feedback, engagement, criticism and support in everything we do.
The 21st century is a great place to be, with research across fields of Sciences, Arts and Humanities promising to be revolutionary, speckled with new achievements each day. Krea attempts to be at the forefront of many of these, also as a means to combat challenges that are unique to our times. And as the world rapidly evolves, it is evident that as a university our distinctive role becomes only more crucial. Each year as new students step in and fresh graduates cross the finish line and step out of the gates at Krea; in tandem, we also deliberate on new ideas, methods and mechanisms to provide better learning experiences, year on year. All rooted in the thought that the world needs more and more Krea graduates, with the abilities that they possess.
As 2024 draws to a close soon, we cherish the sentiment of working and rising together, moving forward with an elevated sense of hope and renewed energy. In everything we do, we hold the torch of our mission high, one step forward in creating a kind, just and purposeful world together.
Krea, this Week will continue its endeavour in curating news from across the Kreaverse and dispatching it weekly with a dose of motivation, to the Krea family each week, with your kind support. If you have stories or news to share with the Krea community, we invite you to connect with us at all.commsteam@krea.edu.in.

The Environmental Studies department at Krea University presented a talk titled, Space Weather and its Effects on Earth’s Thermosphere, by Dr M V Sunil Krishna, Associate Professor, Department of Physics, IIT Roorkee on 14 November, 2024.
Space weather, driven by solar activity, significantly impacts the Earth's thermosphere — a region extending roughly from 80 km to 600 km above Earth's surface. Solar phenomena such as flares, coronal mass ejections (CMEs) and high-speed solar wind streams interact with the Earth's magnetic field, leading to variations in thermospheric density, temperature and composition. These disturbances can cause changes in atmospheric drag, affecting satellite orbits and space operations, and influence radio signal propagation, critical for GPS and communication systems. Understanding space weather's influence on the thermosphere is crucial for mitigating risks to spaceborne technologies and improving predictive models for navigation and communication systems.
