From the world of branding
|
IFMR GSB, Krea University hosted Mr Hari Krishnan, Managing Director of Content and Market Communications, Publicis Groupe, India. With his extensive experience in the marketing domain, he emphasised that branding is fundamentally about differentiation. While many products may float in the "sea of sameness" at the functional level, it is the emotional benefits that often carve out a unique space in the consumer's mind, thereby creating a strong brand identity. He introduced students to #BrandWheel—a powerful framework encompassing attributes, benefits, values, personality, and brand essence. Using iconic examples like Mercedes and BMW, he illustrated how each brand, despite similar functional attributes, differentiates itself through emotional appeal—Mercedes as the "owner's car" and BMW as the "driver's car" Mr. Krishnan concluded with a motivating message, "Your journey begins now."
